As I was reading the a recent blog post on the Official Google Blog, I thought this might be a good time to remind real estate bloggers of the importance of including location specific keywords in their posts. It is not good enough to simply write about real estate related topics such as home staging, home repairs, mortgage info, etc. Your posts need to be specific to your target area. So if you are writing about home staging and you sell real estate in Chicago, then a more appropriate blog topic would be “Staging your Home for Sale in Chicago” or even better “Staging Your Home for Sale in (specific neighborhood) in Chicago”. See the difference? This has a huge impact on your organic search results. Back to the article I was reading on the Google Blog. Did you know that people can narrow their search by location? Starting last week you can narrow your search by location. This limits the search by location in addition to keywords. All the more reason to make sure you are providing location specific information in your online marketing. Narrow targeted information is more helpful to your audience anyway. Make sure you are providing useful, valuable, targeting info to your readers. They will thank you for it. And more of them will be able to find you. :)
